Ableton Plugin Folder How To Get Started

The plugins should be in your AU/VST Plugin folder (s). Here is how to get started: After installation is complete, restart Ableton. Using Satellite Sessions in Ableton is super easy.

If using a custom folder, click 'Browse' to select the folder where your plug-ins are installed. Activate either the VST Plugin Custom folder or VST Plugin System folder by clicking on, depending on where your VST files are located. If using VST2 or VST3, enable the correct folder 4.

Turn on 'Use VST Plug-In System Folders' if the VSTs are installed in the default location as indicated by the plug-in installer. Now start Live and go to the Preferences > File/Folder. Always check the manufacturer's website for the most current version as this will help avoid crashes. Live can only detect plug-ins of the same bit depth. Also check the same for Live (there's a 64-bit beta since 8.3). If they're new(ish) plug-ins, check if you've installed the 32-bit or 64-bit version of it.
